The WotWots on Channel 5

One of my favourite kids TV series at the moment is The WotWots, unlike most of the in house shows on UK TV, this one is imported from New Zealand. The WotWots features two very cute aliens, one called SpottyWot and one called DottyWot. They both travel around in their steam powered spaceship, exploring the surrounding zoo.

The first batch of WotWots toys hit our shops a few months back, you can get The WotWots Toys from Amazon.

Nok Tok is my favourite Waybuloo

Nok Tok from Waybuloo has to be one of the most popular toys this Christmas, he was actually the first of the Waybuloo characters to hit our stores a few months back and my son was lucky enough to get one. I expected Fisher Price to bring out a load more toys from Waybuloo before Christmas, but it seems there is no more untill sometime after Christmas. Although I'm sure Waybuloo will make a fortune this Christmas, I think they could have done better with a bigger range of toys and games.

For anyone looking to get the Waybuloo Nok Tok soft toy for Christmas, you can get it at this Amazon Waybuloo shop, along with all the other characters. Waybuloo Toys - Nok Tok

Pre-School Toys This Christmas

There are many factors you have to think about when buying pre-school toys, firstly of course safety, then educational value is always important, entertainment and the price. There are plenty of review and information sites on the net to get real feedback from people who already own the items, this can be a set of valuable non bias opinion's to help you decide if your getting thee right gift. My personal recommendation is Amazon, they have good honest reviews, the best site layout and most of the time the best prices. Below is a selection of the most in demand presents for pre-school kids for Christmas 2009, beware that many of these items will be selling out fast, so act quick!

As always, there is a large range of tv character themed pre-school toys.

  • Waybuloo - Rapidly becoming every pre-school kids favourite, with the 4 main adorable characters, Nok Tok, YoJoJo, Lau Lau and De Li. At the moment there is actually a very small and limited range of toys and accessories for Waybuloo, considering the demand I would have thought there would be more of a selection. Be sure to grab the bears before they all sell out!
  • Peppa Pig - Continues a very successful year, Peppa Pig merchandise is everywhere and there's lots of it. Although the TV series is based around a little girl pig, Peppa has a popular younger brother called George, making the Peppa Pig range appealing to both girls and boys.
  • In The Night Garden - Still going strong, but maybe feeling the recent success of Waybuloo. Probably the largest range of toys, clothes and accessories in the shops.
  • Thomas The Tank Engine - Some how manages to stay in demand with the kids year after year. Yes Thomas and his friends have been upgraded and are looking flasher than ever, but technically still the same old tank engine we all fell in love with.
  • The Wotwots - A fairly new pre-school tv series, but already kicking up a storm with the kids. The show is based around 2 main characters, Spotty Wot and Dotty Wot. Theres currently a limited range of toys in the shop, including soft toys for Spotty and Dotty.
This year has seen a steady increase in the popularity of Tech toys for pre-school kids, with VTech and Leapfrog bring out a whole range of new cool and modern tech toys. VTech Kidizoom Digital camera has already been names as one of this years most wanted toys by various shops and newspapers and it's easy to see why. The Kidizoom does everything an adults camera does but in a nice kid friendly way, making learning about digital media exciting and hands on for children. Leapfrogs range of Leapster 2 handheld learning consoles are also very popular, with titles like Wall-E, Cars and Disney Princess capturing kids imaginations.

Hopefully my research and personal knowledge on this years hottest toys, will help you find something special for you little ones. As always, happy shopping and good luck!

Suggestions for Kids Christmas Gifts

The 2009 Christmas Holidays are approaching fast, no matter how well you think you have prepared, 24th of December will be here in a flash. One of the best ways to avoid the rush of a busy high street at Christmas, is to sit back and order your gifts online, giving you more time to relax and enjoy the festive season. Below is a list that's been put together with some of the hottest toys and gifts for 2009, no doubt most of these will be already sold out. Sorry I didn't mean to scare you, but it's December the 8th already!

1. Wii Motion Plus

Probably the most desired gift this Christmas, Wii Motion Plus gives the user more accuracy and most of all more fun than the original Wii Motion. Watch the screen as every move you make is copied in great detail. Wii Motion Plus also includes loads of activities in the beach themed Wii Sports Resort add on.

2. DJ Hero

The hugely anticipated DJ Hero is out now on all games consoles (Xbox, PS3, Wii), just like Guitar Hero it comes with it's own wireless control pad, this time in the shape of a turntable and mixer. Mix up some amazing beats like a real DJ with this exciting game play. Play the game to unlock mixes and characters, earn points to get new costumes. Multi-player mode online is also available, continuing the fun long after completing the game.

3. Rubik's Touch Cube

The old faithful Rubik's Cube is revamped for 2009, bringing a classic up to date with a fully electronic finger sensors to move and tun the cube. Can the Rubik's Touch Cube continue the success of an iconic toy?

4. GoGo Hamsters

Kids are going crazy about these realistic and interactive hamsters, GoGo Hamsters move and talk. There are various different Hamsters to collect, Mr Squiggles and Num Nums being 2 of the more popular.

5. Apple iPod

Apple continue their world domination in 2009, with the iPod as popular as ever. The portable media players are a must have for any kid, other Apple devices include the Apple Touch and Apple Nano.
